Bauldelaire wrote of the Accuser in his 1864 short story, “The Generous Gambler.” He wrote, “My dear brethren, do not ever forget, when you hear the progress of lights praised, that the loveliest trick of the Devil is to persuade you that he does not exist.” The ever-subtle thought scaffolding of evolutionism (not to be confused with the biological theory of evolution that is merely a late-stage symptom of the philosophical disease of the “ism”) serves to impede many contemporary thinkers from grasping the fundamental premise of truth of existence itself – that creation proceeds from a Creator. My fellow creatures, the most-exquisite phrase that any of us can utter is “I am,” and it proceeds from the image of “I am that I am,” in which our existence was aroused.
